District leo Adviser.

Dear Lion Leader,

This year our beloved District Governor,Lion CA Abraham panjikkaran E.A.MJF has shown special interest in the Leo club activities and entrusted the District Leo advisory team to guide and encourage the Lions Clubs to promote the Leo movements in our District.

Please guide and support the leo movements in your club and if your club doesnt have a leo club, organise the leo club at the earliest and report to the district and International.

Please note the following general information about the leo club:

Sponsoring a leo Club

Sponsoring Lions club is responsible for all the activities of the Leo club.

Leo club advisory Committee in the Lions Club:

A leo club adviser and two leo advisory committee members has to be nominated from the club.

How to report the formation of Leo club to International head quarters.

To get the approval from the International, we have to report the formation of the Leo club through our Lions MAR to the Lions International head quarters.Also we have to report through online Leo -72 form or report through e-mail.

Usually the International head quarters will charge USD100 as Leo club registration annual fee along with the next International bill(after reporting). This fee is enough for twenty leo members and USD5 will be levies to additional numbers.

Leo MMR online Membership reporting system:

Once the club is registered, The Leo president and leo adviser will get the username and password for the website login to report the MMR online.Please note that all the communications from International Head Quarters will be through e-mail, so give a valid e-mail ID for the leo PST and Leo Adviser.

Reporting Leo Adviser through E-mail:

Since the Leo club advisers cannot be reported through Leo MMR, please send an e-mail to - leommr@lionsclubs.org with the name and contact information of the new leo club adviser.

Online submission of Leo 72 form:

Complete the online version of the Leo-72 form on the Lions clubs International website. To locate this form simply type in Leo club Officers Report Form in the search bar.

Alternate Reporting option:

Take a printout of the PDF version of the Leo-72 form from the Lions website and type or write the details and e-mail the scanned copy to leo@lionsclubs.org.

100% leo club president Award:

To get the 100% Leo club president Award from the lions clubs International, register your leo club with International and report the MMR and MAR in time.

My dear Lions, Lionesses and friends,

At the onset let me thank the Lions District Governor and the Cabinet Nucleus for their forthright effort to encourage the Leo clubs in the District 318C this year.

Everybody is worried about the attitude of the youth. Is there any problem with the youth? Definitely no. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru said that the future of India lies in the hands of the youth. He also said that if appropriately guided they will become the treasure of the nation.

“Youth need to empower themselves for the promotion of a youth movement in the country, with a view towards encouraging the spirit of volunteerism, leadership and sensitivity towards the community requirements, from different walks of life”.

Every day, millions of children around the world miss out the joy of childhood. Instead of playing with toys, they deal with poverty, malnutrition and disabilities. Thats why Leo clubs take part in youth service activities such as international Leo projects and Local community service projects to improve the lives of children.

I request all the RCs, ZCs and the PST to nourish the Leo club movements by sponsoring new Leo clubs in your clubs and report to the International Head Quarters. Always realize that the present Leos are the future Lions.

Let me mention some of the main activities we have planned in the district level this year.

1. August 15^th - Providence Home visit -Kizhakkambalam

Time: 9.30am (food and clothes distribution)

2. September - Orientation program (1 day) for Leos

3. October - Fund raising program

4. December- Painting competition for physically challenged

5. May - Leo Award night and Dist. Convention

Leo council secretary Leo Paul J Pulimoottil and Leo council Treasurer Leo Arjun K Pradeep join with me to wish you a wonderful Lionestic year.
